One of the greatest, most original prog bands! Their changing line ups have included many highly talented musicians, and the songs are still as relevant and influential as when they were first written. In the Court of the Crimson King is so good I have it as a vinyl LP, a tape copy, a CD and I'll make an MP3 copy soon as well!

Yep, LOVE King Crimson too, although I haven't actually bought any new stuff since Thrak. Starless, the version on USA, is my favourite track of theirs; a really stunning piece of music. The 72-74 lineup is my favourite, but they've all got something going for them. Don't know if you're into The Roches, C.Cat. This is Hammond Song from their first album, produced by Robert Fripp with some great guitar snaking through the amazing harmonies on the track: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zPIMHcWtuU&feature=related

I agree with you. “In The Court” is an amazing album, particularly given when it was recorded and what else was happening musically at that time. I was lucky enough to see the “Lark’s Tongues” line-up (with their 2 onstage mellotrons) numerous times, and was actually at the show in Asbury Park, NJ where they recorded that song for the USA album. I also got to see the “Islands” line-up once, in NYC, with Procol Harum headlining, and a then unknown band called Yes as the opening act. That could possibly be where the Fripp/Bruford connection began.
