I just got a copy of The Clash Live at Shea Stadium. Recorded in 1982 when they were the opening act for The Who. I was at the show. It really sounds great. Nice to hear it again after all this time, especially since my memories of the show are a little, shall we say, vague. considering the state of mind I was in at the time. ;P Comes with a booklet w/ very cool pics by Bob Gruen.

The Romantics - 61/49 Ok, Forget the Red Leather Jackets and the 1980's. On this 2003 release, The Romantics mean business! There's no New Wave here, this is pure Garage/Punk! The band sounds dirty and raw, like they have a Hell Hound on their trail. The title track refers to the legendary Highway Crossroads where Bluesman Robert Johnson allegedly sold his soul to the Devil, and rocks like few songs even dare. Other highlights include covers of The Pretty Things "Midnight To Six Man" and The Kinks classic "I Need You" as well as the self-penned "Out Of My Mind (Into My Head)" which sounds like it could have come right off a Small Faces LP! Having Blondie's Clem Burke's drumming on several tracks doesn't hurt the cause either. How dare they be this good! My only question is: Why did I wait so long to get this CD?!?
